We meet between 2 and 4pm on the 4th Monday in the month at Great Longstone Village Hall.

Most sessions follow the format of a prepared talk about an artist or art movement and the historical period in which their art was created, followed by questions and discussion. The speaker or session leader is usually a member of the group.
September 28th
Martin Parr: Photography, Society, and Satire in Late 20th–Early 21st Century Britain, led by Bernard McMahon.

October 26th
The Portrayal of Costume and Drapery in Art, led by Marie White.

November 23rd
Art of the Mexican Revolution: The Muralists, led by Adrian Wills.

If you do not have transport to get to Great Longstone, lifts can usually be arranged.
Opportunities for the future
We have also had an interest in talks to our group from Richard Foulkes at Manchester Art Gallery who has offered a varied set of topics in exchange for donations to the Gallery. These will be discussed at our autumn meetings with a view to inviting him next summer.

New group members are always welcome but most group members will be asked to prepare occasional contributions and presentations.
